And every radiant being there blew us away!

On November 6, Danielle LaPorte, Justine Musk, and I met up in Santa Monica with a full house of people like you – creative talents with open hearts, gleeful faces, and super intelligent questions.

“So much genius in one room—this place is VIBRATING with loving wisdom : )” – Samantha Bennett, author of Get It Done, talking about Open Books on Facebook

If you were there at our Open Books Event, thank you, again, for sharing that magical time with us (beautifully captured by the lens of Catherine Just). We adored every sacred minute of the love and enthusiasm we experienced in Santa Monica.

And now Danielle, Justine, and I are heading into our writing caves for the winter. Hot tea, illuminating dreams, and cozy mornings looking over the laptop and out the window as ideas take shape and words become stories.

Are you writing this winter too? I hope so, and I want the writer in you to know that, though an Open Books Event won’t be happening again (at least not anytime soon), Danielle and I have a thriving community called The Beautiful Writers Group, where we want to welcome you with open arms.

The community is a place to connect with other folks working on books and publishing, and to participate in monthly group coaching calls with the two of us live. We also have a highly interactive G+ group for our members, and wanting to offer more value, we’ll soon be bringing in bestselling author and agent interviews (and Q&A’s with them). We’re also now providing monthly bonus recordings of hour+ long interviews with some of our favorite publishing friends on topics you’re going to LOVE.

For example, last month I did a 90-minute call with my sister, Carol Allen, a Vedic Astrologer and Love Coach, about how, among many other things, she has built a newsletter opt-in list of over 120,000 people. Oh, and about how she gets over 250,000 unique visitors per month to her website. Every month. Year after year!

This month’s interview (posting today) is with my friend Matthew Taylor on how he used LOTS of Beta Readers to help him edit + craft one of the best books I’ve ever read. He’s got GREAT advice about how to get these fabulous volunteer readers–and why you need to–and what to ask them once you do. Including, the #1 thing to tell your Beta Readers to ensure they give you HONEST feedback and don’t worry about hurting your feelings. Both interviews are powerful and are available for download anytime to members. The first group was so popular that we cloned it and we’re now running a second group. But people get busy and some haven’t had the time to connect or even listen to the calls. Some had their burning questions answered already. Some had to leave for personal reasons, but will return after the first of the year. The good news for you is that, at least for now, we’ve got some space. If you’re a writer (or thinking about becoming one), we want you there.

Because the more we get to know you, the more we love you, and can support you : )
It’s a love fest around here. For example, here are a couple quotes from our Beautiful Writers Group community:

And, here are 4 gorgeous babes who met in the group and have now formed their own in-person writing group! How amazing is that? This makes us so happy. We met several such giddy BWG groups at Open Books… women who met online in the group and then got together in person for the first time a day or two before the event, to pow-wow and brainstorm for each other, showing up like long-time besties. Wow.

If you haven’t already, join us in The Beautiful Writers Group and give your inner writer the nurturing & companionship she needs this winter. Magic happens here.
