There was a time when this was my whole world—ghostwriting and developing books from the ground up. Book deals, awards, even a couple of New York Times bestsellers. It was intense, immersive, and wildly rewarding.
These days, I’ve chosen a different rhythm—more space for my own books, my retreats, my growing speaking life (yes, this homebody is officially leaving the nest… ha!), and the writers I’m lucky enough to guide along the way.
But the thrill of spotting brilliance on the page?
Of helping a book become what it’s truly meant to be?
That never left.
Every so often, my sister, Carol Allen, and I say yes to a full manuscript deep dive.
And when we do?
It’s the kind of magic that only happens when two people who love books this much get their hands on something special.
Carol is my favorite big-picture editor on the planet, and when we team up, it’s equal parts ruthless and loving.
(Your book deserves both.)
We don’t say yes lightly.
It has to be a full-body yes:
💜 obsessed with the idea
💜 rooting hard for the writer
💜 certain the book can level all the way up
When I feel it in my gut, I call her and say,
“Tell me you’re free…”
And when we’re both in?
Your book won’t be the same—in the very best way.
I’ve just added a page here with all the details.
If this is calling to you, we’d love to hear about your beautiful book (there’s a short form at the end of the page).
Remember that electric, can’t-wait-for-morning feeling from childhood holidays or birthdays? That’s how we feel every time we begin a new collaboration.
We adore books. We adore bold storytelling. And we can’t wait to put our heads together for you.
We’ve carved out time for two or three projects before the end of the year, and we’re excited to chat about how we can help.
Write on!

PS. And yes—the self-proclaimed homebody is officially stepping onto stages. It’s something I’ve always loved, but never quite made the time for. Until now.
I’m hitting the road to share the magic, the missteps, and the behind-the-scenes moments of my own writing life—and the bestselling authors I’ve had the joy of interviewing on my podcast. The stories you don’t always hear… but always need. You’ll find me at literary festivals, universities, corporate keynotes, publishing conferences, wellness retreats, and intimate book club gatherings.
If you’re part of a group that wants to laugh, take notes, and leave reminded that great books—and bold lives—aren’t built on perfection, but by stubborn people who keep going anyway… I’d love to come speak. Reach out at linda@bookmama.com.
Wheeee! xo
